Arrun Soma is a born and bred Wellingtonian, who spent five years overseas living in Japan and the United Kingdom. Now back in Aotearoa’s capital city, Arrun is a communications professional working in the public service.
Arrun’s career is rooted in journalism: as a television reporter for TVNZ’s 1 News, and as a television producer in London at BBC World News.
Arrun’s spare time is spent dressing his pint-sized pooches in tacky dog outfits - including cable knits, tutus, and Christmas elf costumes.
Director of Certification
Jacqui is a senior communications professional, whose first and abiding love is all things internal communications. She has more than 20 years’ experience, progressing from writing media releases about global property investment funds through to helping launch a culture change programme in one of New Zealand’s largest corporates.
Jacqui has worked in the private sector, both central and local government, and a member organisation. She is currently Customer Engagement Lead at the New Zealand Defence Force, helping to steer the engagement practice within the Communications and Information Systems Branch.

Anthony is a communications professional with over a decade of experience in all aspects of comms, in both the private and public sector. He is currently a Principal Engagement and Communications Advisor at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
Anthony is driven by taking complex information and turning it into compelling yarns that anyone can engage in. He is a Hawkes Bay boy who escaped the 30+ degree summers by moving to Wellington nearly 20 years ago and fell in love with this great city (while moaning every summer about how cold it is).
Angela has worked in communications since 2005. Her love of variety and a new challenge have seen her work at a speedway, the Catholic Church, New Zealand Red Cross, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).

Having recently worked in engagement roles at Zealandia Te Mara a Tāne and Auckland Zoo, and as a researcher for Auckland University, she loves connecting people with the world around them and understanding what makes them tick. She graduated with Masters in Sociology and Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Outside of the office, Julia creates paper art by commission, and is learning Te Reo Māori—she’s always looking to practice her language skills over a coffee.
Director of Events Portfolio
Owen has been working in the communications and stakeholder engagement arena for just over a decade. He cut his teeth in the far more exciting than you’d expect world of Local Government and is a self-confessed local democracy nerd.
More recently he’s worked in Internal Communications at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and is now working as Stakeholder Engagement Advisor at Interislander as part of the iReX transformation programme team as they set to modernise the Cook Strait crossing experience.
Creative storytelling and connecting people to heart of issues and organisations is his passion, alongside building on his ever-growing collection of floral shirts.
