There’s nothing quite like the end of the financial year to test one’s sanity. We’re often rushing to get that extra piece of work in before the close of June, or getting everything set for a running start when the new financial year begins. It’s a certain kind of madness that we repeat year after year, but there’s also something cathartic that comes from making it through that shared, mad experience.
The beauty of a financial year ending is that it provides a clear line in the sand: it’s the moment each of us has an opportunity to take stock of the previous 12 months and prepare ourselves for the 12 ahead. For those of us working to establish value for our organisations, it’s also a great time to demonstrate that value not just for the sake of the organisation, but also our own teams.
That’s what we’d like to do with our next event, which will be held on 23 July. Wellington has an exceptional community of business communicators, who pulled in an impressive 7 IABC Gold Quill awards in 2019. Winning a Gold Quill means each winner is an exceptional reflection of internationally-recognised communications best practices. This event will be an opportunity to hear local examples of great communications in actions—things that may spark ideas to help you and your teams have an amazing year ahead.
On 23 July we will take a moment to celebrate the success of Wellington’s 2019 IABC Gold Quill winners with not only bubbles (and who doesn’t love bubbles?), but also a series of short presentations from the winners. We hope you can join us, make sure to get your tickets.
