March 2024 - Message from our President
Kia ora,
It’s been a challenging few months for many working in communications and the media. The recent news about Newshub’s closure and now the latest programme and job cuts at TVNZ has left many of our colleagues in the industry without jobs. Those working in the public sector are also grappling with uncertainty and that’s taking its toll on people’s mental and financial wellbeing. Our hearts go out to those affected and we want you to know we’re thinking of you.
Whether you’re a journalist, a producer, communications specialist, or part of any other industry impacted by these changes, we stand with you. The uncertainty can be overwhelming but remember you’re not alone. Reach out to your peers, your IABC community, or anyone you trust.
We’re here to listen, support and connect.
Ngā mihi
Anika Forsman
